27 January 2014

This week has been pretty good but has had it's ups and downs.  We had a great meeting with our one investigator Katrina Bellis.   She's been really hard to have lessons with but she goes to church almost all the time.  But we finally managed to establish a way where we can get daily contact with her in that we will text her stories to read together with her family so that was good.

We also got to meet with a random former that showed up to church these last few weeks and we will start teaching him this week too and we also saw a few less actives that said they would come to church.  The issue being that a lot of them failed to show but that's okay.   We got this one less active part member family though to come to a funeral this past Saturday and it was the first time that they had been inside the church building for 4 years so that's better then nothing I guess.  But another thing that happened this week that was a bummer was that we weren't able to meet with Felicia. She has a terrible sense of time as most west Africans do so it makes it hard to meet with her if she isn't home for the set appointment so we are thinking of calling her like 30 minutes before we go over and see if she's actually home and then bring other people with us. But we will hopefully meet with her tomorrow if everything goes as planned.  We have a game plan for her!  Anyways that was the highlights of this week.

I'm getting into shape pretty quickly actually thanks to that power 90 dvd. I have some really nice calves from doing it so much lol.  But I'm not coming back home fat.   Also I'm becoming like an expert in driving in snowy conditions.  It's pretty scary with a 2-wheel drive and you use the brakes and you don't slow down at all and you fish tail everywhere.   Yea I've seen some people lose control several times as New Yorkers are awful drivers so it's always a joy to drive in the 2013 Chevy Cuise.

A thought to ponder . . .

"Faith exists when absolute confidence in that which we cannot see
combines with action that is in absolute conformity to
the will of our Heavenly Father.
Without all three -- first, absolute confidence; second, action;
and third, absolute conformity --
without these three all we have is a counterfeit,
a weak and watered-down faith."
- Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin -
